Goodbye Dry! Our Favourite Winter Skincare Tips

Baby, it’s cold outside so it’s time to take care of your beautiful skin. We know during these cold fronts it can be extremely difficult to maintain good skin rituals because all you want to do is snuggle up in your fluffy blanket and keep the heater on. But to combat dry, tight and itchy skin caused by the change in temperature, it’s important to follow these tips and use the right products. Keep reading to see what you should do to keep your skin plump and youthful.

Humidifiers Are Saviours

When you think of humidifiers, you may not automatically think of skin care. But these products help to keep your skin moist and hydrated. Dry air causes skin to lose moisture, which can lead to fine lines and wrinkles. So if you want to keep your skin looking its best, make sure you invest in a good humidifier!

Before All Else - Moisturise!

As the weather gets chilly and the air gets dry, it's more important than ever to keep your skin moisturised. Otherwise, you might end up with a dry, flaky complexion.
There are a few things you can do to make sure your skin stays hydrated this winter. First, invest in a good quality moisturiser that will work for your skin type. Water-based moisturisers are a great place to start. We also recommend purchasing products that help the rest of your body, because oftentimes we forget about the rest of our skin. Invest in a good body butter or oil, an intense lip balm (look for products where the first ingredient is beeswax or cocoa seed butter), and don’t forget a good hand cream.

Hydration Is Key

Drinking lots of water is especially important in the winter months. You may not feel as thirsty as you do in the summer, but your body still needs plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. Drinking water helps your body function properly and can also help to prevent colds as well as keep your skin plump. Drinking water is also not the only way to stay hydrated, we recommend having baths and showers that aren’t too hot. These will allow your skin to rejuvenate itself and soak in the moisturiser better.
